Thesis Frustration

For those of you who have been down the thesis path my frustrations may seem familiar. Or perhaps your subject was more straightforward. Maybe you were just a whole lot more brilliant than me. I confess I have not done all the deep reading I should have and much of what I did was read over a decade ago. So in that regard, I admit I am sometimes lazy (or easily bored). But I can think and analyze! And I do it well!

In any event, I find myself with a handful of faculty advisors who run the gamut from barely adequate and averse to anything that looks like hard work - to stimulating, challenging and just plain wonderful. The real challenge is that none of them have a much of back ground in my specific area of interest. This means that they frequently are unable to agree on what I should be doing. Sometimes they even contradict themselves. And they keep whittling away at my stated and orginally approved academic objectives. I can only describe the result as a progressive dumming down of the thesis. Very frustrating.

So, while I will keep the primary web page heading down its merry path, I'm hoping I can encourage someone, anyone to provide some decent feedback, direction, insight ANYTHING on what I am trying to build. I also plan to use this blog to approach Strategic Culture from a less academic, more empirical and experiential perspective based on analgoes drawn from more day to day settings.
